Adding apple butter is a great idea for this hummus dip and it stays true to its name by giving this recipe a “smooth and buttery” texture with apple flavor.  The other ingredient that peaked our interest in this recipe is the cream cheese.  No wonder there are lots of yummy choices to enjoy this dip (or spread) with like pretzels, pita chips and apples!  We love cheese with pretzels and apples, so it’s definitely a bonus when you add hummus into the mix.  These yummy ideas are from Selena Sharpless via Sabra.  We’re big fans of Sabra’s line of delicious hummus.  We’ve tried each flavor and liked them all.  Our favorites are the Classic, Tuscan Garden, Sun Dried Tomato and Roasted Garlic.  This recipe features Sabra’s Classic Hummus, which is so flavorful.

    Grab:

    • 1/2 cup Classic Sabra Hummus
    • 1/2 cup whipped cream cheese
    • 1/3 cup apple butter
    • 3 Tbsp maple syrup
    • 1 tsp cinnamon
    • Serve with: sliced apples, crackers, pretzels or pita chips!

    Make It:

Whisk together: hummus, cream cheese,  apple butter, syrup and cinnamon.

*This recipe’s notes: Make sure to use apple BUTTER, not applesauce (applesauce will not give the same sweetness or texture) and WHIPPED cream cheese (easier to whisk than regular).

YUM!  We would serve this hummus with all of those listed choices…apples, crackers, pretzels and pita chips.  Small bite sized dark pumpernickel bread wedges would be so good, too.
